Your trust matters. This explains what we collect, why, and how it’s handled.

Who we are

This website presents the professional services of Miranda Makary, BS, RN, Irlen screening and lens services, brain health education, and speaking. If you have questions about this policy, you can reach us through the contact page.

What we collect

When you submit an inquiry form or share your self-check results, that typically includes your name, email address, general location, and the details you write about your reason for reaching out. The interactive self-check runs in your browser. Your answers stay in your browser unless you choose to send a results summary through the form or by email. Submitted forms are processed by Netlify. This site also uses analytics, as described below.

What we ask you NOT to send

Please do not submit sensitive medical information, records, or detailed health history through any form on this site. These forms are for general, non-urgent inquiries only. This website does not provide emergency care. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

How we use your information

We use what you share solely to respond to your inquiry, arrange next steps, and answer your questions, usually by email. If you opt in to receive educational tips or a downloadable resource, we may send occasional brain-health and visual-stress emails, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.

How we share it

We do not sell your personal information. We may use trusted service providers (for example, email or form tools) to operate the site and respond to you; those providers process information on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law.

Cookies & analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand visits and how people use its pages. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information about browser and device characteristics and site activity. See Google’s explanation of its analytics data practices for more information. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

The Reading comfort tool saves your display preferences in your browser so they can be used on later visits. These preferences are stored separately from inquiry forms. You can clear them through your browser’s site-data settings.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, request corrections, ask us to delete it, or unsubscribe from emails. Contact us through the contact page and we’ll help.

Children’s privacy

This site is intended for adults (including parents inquiring on behalf of a child). We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Parents and guardians should submit inquiries on a child’s behalf.

Educational nature of this site

Information on this website is for general education only and is not medical, psychological, educational, or vision care. Irlen screening, lens assessment, and the self-check are not a medical diagnosis or treatment and do not replace evaluation by qualified professionals. Outcomes vary from person to person.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date will change accordingly.
