Irlen Lenses & Lens Assessment
Explore individualized tinted lenses with Miranda Makary, BS, RN, Certified Irlen Diagnostician. Initial screening and lens assessment are separate sessions, with different purposes.
Individual assessment
What makes lens assessment different?
Irlen Screening is the first step: exploring signs of visual stress and whether colored overlays may be helpful. Lens assessment examines individual tints for Irlen Spectral Filters, the tinted lenses used in the Irlen Method.
Certified Irlen Screeners provide initial screening. Certified Irlen Diagnosticians can provide both screening and lens assessment, including assessment of custom lens tints. Miranda’s lens assessment is a distinct service.

Start with the right service
If you have not had screening, begin by reading about Irlen Screening. If you have already been screened, mention this when you inquire so Miranda can explain the next step.
An overlay color is not automatically your lens tint. Lens assessment is an individual process.
The process
What to expect
Discuss your screening
Share whether you have completed Irlen Screening and what you hope to explore. The team will explain the assessment process and answer your questions.
Assess an individual lens tint
A Certified Irlen Diagnostician assesses tint options with you. This separate assessment explores lens tints rather than assuming your overlay color will be suitable.
Review findings and options
You receive an explanation of the findings and any suggested next steps. Individual experiences vary, and assessment does not guarantee that lenses will help.
